ਇਸ ਦੀ ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਕਾਂਗੜ ਤੇ ਊਨਾ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਤਰ ਪੂਰਬੀ, ਜਲੰਧਰ ਤੇ ਕਪੂਰਥਲਾ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਖਣ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ ਨਾਲ ਇਤਰ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਲਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
2011 ਦੀ ਜੰਨ ਗਣਨਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਸਦਾ ਖੇਤਰਫ਼ਲ 3386 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਨ ਸੰਖਿਆ 1586625 ਹੈ।
